The Challenge: SAP EHSM Product Compliance
According to legal regulations, companies obliged to ensure the conformity of its own product structures and to communicate this to the authorities. Without fulfilling these verification obligations, companies run the risk of no longer being allowed to sell their products. SAP EHSM Product Compliance minimizes these legal risks.

Integrating the extensive Material BOMs into the EHSM without performance restrictions was one of the challenges. In addition, the compliance status of the components had to be checked for order BOMs with variant configurations.

The functions of DXC's CDX portal for supplier communication and SCIP Notification to the ECHA, among other things, had to be implemented in the SAP system using a cockpit. In addition to monitoring supplier communication, supplier declarations including the product structure can be transferred to the EHSM.

The Solution:
In addition to SAP EHS Management Product Compliance (EHS-MGM-PRC), an SAP integrated IT solution with business processes including the interface to CDX from DXC and integration into the ECHA SCIP database via CDX was implemented. This solution supports Windmöller and Hölscher in ensuring compliance with product-related environmental regulations and protecting against hazardous substances.

The extensive SAP ERP BOMs are synchronized with SAP EHSM. Compliance checks can be carried out based on these product structures. An SAP-based CDX cockpit was implemented for the CDX integration, which is used for supplier communication and SCIP notification to the ECHA.

In global rollouts, further regulations are considered and functions such as the document block for non-compliant materials in procurement, production and sales are implemented.
